The Britely and Wolfgang Puck’s Restaurant Ospero Permanently Close at Pendry West Hollywood

West Hollywood hotel The Pendry has shuttered two of its attractions — private membership club The Britely and Wolfgang Puck‘s restaurant Ospero.

A rep confirmed the news today to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “The new owner of Pendry West Hollywood decided to simplify operation by closing The Britely and Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant on Sunset, Ospero. Those spaces will now be used for alternative purposes.”

The Britely was owned and operated by Combined Properties. Pendry West Hollywood did not operate the membership club. Per a source, Britely staff were notified last week about the club’s closing. It’s unclear when Ospero staff were notified or whether any will be moved over to the hotel’s other dining options.

Located on the corner of Sunset and Olive Drive, the European-style café featured a menu that included classic salads, handmade pastas, vegan dishes and Puck’s house-made pizzas from Ospero’s wood-burning pizza oven. Puck still maintains another Pendry restaurant, Merois. That location, perched atop the hotel as a rooftop restaurant with city views, offers a more sophisticated menu of global dishes, a raw bar and sushi menu and flavors of Thailand, Singapore, Japan and beyond.

THR covered The Britely’s opening in April 2021 amid the pandemic, a brutal time for clubs, restaurants and in-person experiences. The Martin Brudnizki-designed space was available to members and hotel guests and included access to two private dining experiences, a rooftop pool, 24-hour gym, spa, bowling lanes, screening room, music and performance venue and cultural programming.

It had a starting price of $2,800 annually for founding members and opened with a focus on developing into a community rather than a members-only club. “The Britely is devoted to community, curiosity and celebration, offering a joyful approach to the modern social scene,” managing director of lifestyle Estelle Lacroix told THR at the time. “The Britely offers the best of Los Angeles: diverse thinking, great food, relaxed yet elegant comforts and a little self-indulgence.”
